Frequently asked questions
Everything about residential car sharing for property developers.
Who finances the vehicles and car sharing infrastructure?
Mondayshare covers 100% of the investment: vehicles, charging stations, telematics devices, signage and dedicated parking infrastructure. The property developer bears zero cost, neither at installation nor during ongoing operations.
The residential car sharing business model is funded by subscriptions and pay-per-use bookings from resident users.
This financial model allows developers to offer a green mobility service in their new developments without impacting promotion margins, while gaining a differentiating commercial argument and ensuring compliance with the French LOM mobility law and local urban planning requirements.
When in the project should we get involved?
Ideally, Mondayshare should be integrated from the building permit stage to optimize parking design: location of car sharing spaces, electrical pre-wiring for charging stations, dedicated signage and appropriate sizing.
Early integration also allows you to leverage residential car sharing in the permit application and benefit from the minimum 30% reduction in parking spaces provided by Article L151-31 of the French Urban Planning Code.
The contract is signed at least 3 months before delivery to allow time for vehicle ordering and equipment installation. Mondayshare also works with already-delivered residences and existing co-ownerships, in coordination with the property manager or homeowners association.
How many shared vehicles per residence?
Fleet sizing for residential car sharing is done on a bespoke basis by our team, starting from a detailed analysis of the development: number of units, geographic location (dense urban, suburban, inner or outer ring), resident profile (families, young professionals, seniors), public transport access and local car ownership rates.
On average, we deploy 1 shared vehicle per 30 to 50 units. This ratio can be increased in high-demand areas or decreased in areas well served by public transport.
The fleet evolves over time based on actual usage data, ensuring optimal availability for residents at all times.
How do residents access the car sharing service?
Mondayshare manages the entire resident relationship, from registration to daily use of the car sharing service. Each resident signs up online in a few minutes and accesses the mobile app (iOS and Android) to book a vehicle, unlock it with their smartphone and complete departure and return inspections.
We handle resident onboarding at building delivery through group presentation sessions and educational materials.
An ongoing engagement program (newsletter, welcome offers, events) drives adoption and regular use of the service. User support is available 24/7 for any question or incident.
Is the car sharing service compatible with co-ownership?
Yes, the Mondayshare car sharing service is fully compatible with co-ownership structures. We work directly with the property management company or homeowners association to structure the contractual framework and secure the necessary approvals at the general assembly.
The service can be included in common charges or offered as an optional service for interested residents, depending on the co-ownership board's preference. Dedicated car sharing parking spaces are identified in the co-ownership regulations.
Mondayshare provides all technical and regulatory documentation needed for the general assembly presentation and supports the property manager throughout operational implementation.
